Description
Lovely, homely notes of earth and forest floor are enveloped by red cherry. These are joined on the nose and palate by soft vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. A nose of strawberries, raspberries and floral notes such as violets. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied. Intense notes of herbs and puréed dark berries with soft tannins, a juicy ripeness and an elegant, long finish.Wine EnthusiastWE88Toasty oak with an edge of mocha precedes bright red-currant fruit on the nose. On the fresh palate, the fruit is gentle and pure but for now the oak is a little clunky with a slightly bitter edge. If you like it smoky, you will like this. The slender freshness is a bonus.Anne Krebiehl, July 1, 2019Wine AdvocateWA86Coming from the Altenberg in Jois and aged for nine months in large oak, small oak and stainless steel, the 2017 Pinot Noir Eveline offers a polished, clear, fresh and spicy nose of sour cherries and blackcurrant. Silky, fresh and round on the elegant, medium-bodied palate, this Pinot Noir develops charm and juicy roundness. The tannins are very fine, which makes this an accessible ands easy-drinking red wine for everyday. Bottled in June, tasted in December 2018.
