As a result of this extended ageing process, the rum presents a rich tapestry of flavours sourced from various countries, such as Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, Venezuela, Guadeloupe, Brazil, and Saint Lucia.

The Last Drop Distillers was founded in 2008 by two icons of the spirits industry, Tom Jago and James Espey OBE.
