Description
On December 6, 1970, three single casks were filled with Glenrothes Single Malt Scotch. For the next fifty years, the spirit matured undisturbed, absorbing the rich character of the wood. This bottle, from Cask No. 10589, represents the final release in this extraordinary trilogy—a once-in-a-lifetime single malt.
The experience begins with the aroma of smoky, rain-dampened wood, mingling with soft vanilla, cooked bananas, and a hint of sandalwood. The first sip reveals a vibrant burst of fresh berries and tropical fruits, which then gives way to a deeper, more complex layer of dark oak tannins and gentle smoke. The finish is exceptionally long, leaving lingering notes of warm spice, fruit, and a final wisp of smoke. This is not just a whisky, but a piece of history, offering a complexity that can only be achieved through half a century of patient maturation.
