Description
Tequila: T1 Uno Excepcional Reposado
Rested in barrels previously used to age Scotch whisky, this Tequila is complex, earthy and unlike any other. Where others are caramel-forward (the result of resting in used Bourbon barrels), this reposado is crisp, with woodsy, green flavors and subtle notes of cinnamon and ginger on the finish. The striking, bulbous bottle looks like a genie should pop out, capped as it is with a flame-shaped glass stopper.

Size: 750ML
Proof: 80 (40% ABV)
Origin: Mexico
Distillery: Master Distiller Germán González
t1 is produced by Master Distiller Germán González, formerly of his family’s Chinaco, of 100% Highlands blue agaves–especially mature in some cases. After slow autoclaving and double-distilling–and in the case of the reposado, spending six months in “very old” Scotch barrels, it is bottled in a distinctive, Aladdin-shaped bottle.
T1 Uno Excepcional Reposado Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: The color is a pale straw befitting the used oak, and the nose presents brown, creamy spice (cinnamon and ginger but no pepper) plus some stewed agave.
Palate: All of the above are present on the palate, along with a nuttiness (think pine nuts) and a little more cream–all doing a Fred and Ginger dance on the palate.
Finish: A flash of pepper appears on the medium finish, wrapping up a tipple that is at once suave and street-smart.
