Shackleton Blended Malt Scotch is based on the spirit supplied to the 1907 British Antarctic Expedition, expertly crafted using a selection of the finest Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. Over 20 individual Single Malts aged in ex-bourbon American White Oak barrels and married in Spanish Sherry Butts.

Inspired by the whisky left behind by Antarctica by Sir Ernest Shackleton in the early 1900s and discovered frozen but intact over 100 years later, this blended malt continues in the footsteps of The Discovery and The Journey. It’s created once again by Master Blender Richard Patterson based on the flavour profile of Shackleton’s favourite tipple, though now more accessible than the aforementioned limited edition releases.

Shackleton Blended Malt Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Vanilla, toffee apple, brioche, Manuka honey and hints of marmalade followed by cinnamon, banana bread and ginger cake.

Palate: Treacle toffee, Demerara sugar and sweet sultanas, glazed pineapple, freshly baked crusted bread and mango cake.

Finish: Hot mulled wine, praline chocolate and oolong tea with a final whisper of gentle bonfire smoke and crème brûlée.
