This bourbon was distilled from a mash bill of 74% Corn, 18% Rye, and 8% Malted Barley before spending 15 years and 0 Months in barrels with a #4 Char.
Sam Houston 15 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla, nutmeg, butterscotch, baking spice, orangish cherry, barrel char, and oak.
Palate: Layers of fruit, almost like a fruit punch. More notes of brown sugar, barrel char, and oak.
Finish: Black cherry and black liquorice early on the finish, followed up with notes of brown sugar, and heavy barrel char. The finish is long and drying.
