This whisky has a delicate spirit with a medium peaty character and a light golden tone. A peated expression of everyone’s favourite Welsh whisky, Penderyn. After an initial maturation in ex-bourbon casks, Penderyn Peated undergoes a secondary maturation in casks previously used to hold Islay whisky, layering an aromatic, smoky flavour over the Welsh distillery’s signature light and fruity character.

Penderyn Peated (Old Bottling) Single Malt Whiskey Tasting Notes.

Nose: It introduces itself with sweet, aromatic smoke.

Palate: Notes of vanilla, green apple and refreshing citrus.

Finish: Vanilla linger on the attractive medium length finish.

Distillery Information

The company was launched in 2000 as the Welsh Whisky Company. Whisky had been distilled in Wales for hundreds of years, but stopped in 1894. Penderyn became the first whisky to be manufactured in Wales for over a century when sales started in 2004. It remains the only whisky currently produced in Wales.
