This is one of our favourites here at caskcartel! After releasing a number of single cask Coffey distilled grain whiskies, this is Nikka’s larger release of their Japanese single grain whisky. It is mostly made of corn and distilled in the continuous Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, which were imported from Scotland in 1963. This is stunning stuff.

Previously only released as part of single casks, Nikka decided to add their Coffey Malt to their core range in 2014. Distilled in a Coffey still, normally used for grain whisky production, the malt is delightfully fruity and spicy. This is one of our favourites here at caskcartel! Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky with Box Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: The aromas have alight fruit notes with malt and spice.

Palate: Smooth and soft with good sweetness and winter spice.

Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.

Distillery Information

Miyagikyo distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery. It is located near Sendai, the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture, T?hoku region, Japan. The distillery is owned by Nikka Whisky Distilling, and was opened in 1969.
