Mosswood whiskeys are purchased from other distillers and then finished in unique casks in Berkeley, California. The whiskey for this expression is an Irish whiskey from Cooley Distillery, which Mosswood aged in casks seasoned with amontillado sherry.
Mosswood Barrel Aged Irish Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: It’s full-bodied with notes of dates and a slightly fruity aroma.
Palate: Cashews and almonds are accompanied by lemon oil, a bit of banana, and orange flower.
Finish: A nice woody finish makes gives this whiskey a surprisingly nice balance.

Family (Therese & Jake Chevedden) owned and operated spirits, limited batch, barrel aging and blending in the San Francisco Bay Area. Best known for American Whiskey barrel aged in Espresso, Apple Brandy, or Sour Beer. Previously released single Whiskey Barrels aged in Nocino, Umeshu, Pinot Noir, and Scotch. Now offering Night Rum and Day Rum. Mosswood takes a delicate and calculated approach to barrel aging, blending, and proofing.’
