Queen Bee Honey Whisky is part of their Seasonal line of spirits. They first bottled this in April 2014. It has been so popular that in spring of 2018, it graduated to the big bottle and is now known as “Cody Road Honey” and is available year-round.

Queen Bee Honey Whiskey, according to the distillery, combines a sweeter barrel of its Cody Road bourbon with nearly 60 gallons of locally sourced, farm fresh honey. The honey was combined with some water and boiled in small amounts to produce a “clear honey solution.” It was then added to the whiskey and the two sat in a combined fashion for a few days before being filtered to produce the final product which found its way into around 5,000 bottles.

Nose: A light, sweet honeyed aroma.

Palate: A mild aroma of sweetness that finishes with spice flavors.

Finish: Sweet and refreshing.

Distillery Information

Mississippi River Distilling, located right on the banks of its namesake in LeClaire, Iowa, is one of the four distilleries taking part in a highly anticipated collaborative bourbon. It has plenty of its own limited edition whiskies to offer its fan base as well, such as the recently released Six Shooter Smoke bottling that came out at the end of January.
