For its Method and Madness series, Midleton finished its single pot still whiskey in cherry wood! It was treated to this unique finish after an initial maturation in bourbon and sherry casks. Cherry wood is special because it’s particularly porous, imparting notes of coconut, ginger and black tea to the whiskey. Very funky stuff from the folks over in County Cork!

Nose: Apple skin and ripe tropical fruit lead into coconut cream, fresh herbs and crystallised ginger.
Palate: Lychee and creamy tropical sweetness, with woody spice and freshly cut herbs alongside tannic black tea.
Finish: Rich and smooth.
