Masciarelli is an Italian wine producer, located in Abruzzo just to the south of the city of Pescara. The family-owned estate produced wine from four different provinces: Chieti, Pescara, Teramo and L’Aquila. The estate was founded in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli, who is widely regarded as being at the vanguard of modernization in the region. The estate includes a 17th Century palace that is utilised as a resort and is surrounded by vineyards. Masciarelli produces a large portfolio of wines, encompassing many different styles and varieties. The flagship line is the Villa Gemma which is led by the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo produced from the region’s most noble grape variety. To compliment, the Villa Gemma Bianco and Villa Gemma Cerasuolo are produced in a fresh and lively style to complete the range. The company has over 60 parcels of vineyards throughout the Abruzzo region of both international and indigenous grape varieties.
