This limited edition expression from Macallan was released as a Travel Retail exclusive, in 2019. Celebrating world visionaries, this second release in the Concept series is inspired by similarities in the creative approaches of crafting whisky and creating music. For Concept Number 2, Whisky Maker (and DJ) Steven Bremner brought together sherry-seasoned American oak casks, Miguel Martin sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks to create a harmonious blend. The result is bottled at a strength of 40% abv and features a packaging design that pays homage to the world of music.

Macallan Concept No. 2 (2019) Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich toffee apple, vanilla, oak spice, blackberry, nutmeg and rose water.

Palate: Sweet toffee and dried apple, with almond, cinnamon and a touch of wood spice.

Finish: Medium sweet with hints of spice and toffee lingering.

Distillery Information

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
