Rated 96
Sandalwood, wild blueberries, cranberries, cloves, cocoa and sage on the nose, followed by a polished, firm and full-bodied palate that has both depth and excellent freshness. I like the dried-herb undertones. Tight and polished. 51% cabernet sauvignon, 24% merlot, 14% cabernet franc, 6% malbec and 5% petit verdot. Try from 2028.
Wine Tasting Notes
With a flavor profile distinctly influenced by its volcanic basalt soil, L’Ecole No. 41 Estate Ferguson Vineyard Walla Walla Red Blend is a richly structured and energetic wine offering complex, mineral-laced aromas of cassis, blackberries, fragrant violet, tobacco, and sandalwood. Layers of dark fruit and espresso are framed by expressive tannins integrated with crushed rocks and graphite on the palate. Intense, racy, and structured, Ferguson’s pronounced natural acidity carries through to a compelling and enduring finish.
