Over at the Killowen Distillery in Ireland’s County Down, this Poitín is produced from a mashbill of wheat, barley and oats. A mixture of malted and unmalted grains were used, with the malted grain having been smoked on-site with Mourne turf fires in the distillery’s handmade kiln. The result? A creamy, dry, subtly smoky Irish tipple, bottled up at 48% ABV.
