Here we have Kentucky Vintage, a delicious small-batch bourbon from Kentucky Bourbon Distillers. It’s distilled, aged and bottled in Kentucky (no surprise there) and handsomely sealed with wax, though there’s no age statement. It’s a classically styled, buttery bourbon with a lovely gentle hint of smoke. You’d be mistaken not to at least try it in an Old Fashioned.

Kentucky Vintage | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Hints of candied peel and creamy caramel. A little herbal note, with sultanas, butterscotch and just a faint whisper of smoke.

Palate: Bonfire toffee and rich spice on the palate. Cooked fruit and linseed oil. Buttery cereal grains.

Finish: Thick, creamy finish with zinging spices.

Distillery Information

Kentucky Vintage is a child brand of the Willet distillery for a small batch Bourbon. The Willet distillery was founded in 1936 by Thompson Willet and erected near his father’s farm. The first batch yielded 300 barrels of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey and the rest is history. More than 80 years have passed, with the family continuing to make Kentucky Bourbon and Kentucky Rye whiskey on the same spot.
