Distillery Information
Jefferson’s Bourbon is a brand of bourbon whiskey founded in 1997 and named for founding father Thomas Jefferson in honor of his experimental spirit. It is distilled at the Kentucky Artisan Distillery in Louisville. The Very Small Batch and Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbons are both blends of four different whiskeys. There is also a range of extreme-aged Bourbons and rye from various sources known as Presidential Select, and a whiskey made specifically for pairing with food called the Chef’s Collaboration. An interesting innovation from Jefferson’s is the Ocean expression, produced from seven-year-old barrels that are sailed around the world on the OCEARCH research vessel for approximately four years. The constant movement of the liquid in barrel combined with the saline atmosphere creates a particularly unique environment for the whiskey aging in barrel. In 2019, Jefferson’s Bourbon was purchased by the international drinks conglomerate Pernod Ricard.
