This Single malt Glenrothes is moderately successful on the market, however, masters of blending give it the rank of “top dressing”. Brand owner, Berry Bros. & Rudd, a renowned importer and distributor of wines, promotes it in vintage, not age versions. Glenrothes is the backbone of Cutty Sark and Famous Grouse, and the owners say the 1995 distillate was produced with the intention of being single malt bottling for the first time in the distillery’s history . Approximately 30% of the whiskey has been aged in first fill sherry casks.
