We think that this bottle of Glenmorangie 10 Year Old was produced in the early 1990s. This comes before the whole range of Glenmoranige’s single malts have a big redesign, and as such this collectible bottle features the handsomely old-fashioned illustrations of the distillery grounds on the label.

Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Bottled 1990s Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Delicate, sophisticated and clean. The key notes are floral, rather than cereal, perhaps mandarin and vanilla, with light hints of honey. A leading Parisian perfume house has identified no less than 26 individual aromas in our malt, from apple and mango to cinnamon and quince.

Palate: First note the feel of the spirit as it slides over your tongue: creamy, but not cloying; clean and slightly dry on the back of the palate; medium-bodied. The flavour is well-balanced: no single feature dominates.

Finish: Smooth and lingering.

Distillery Information

The Glenmorangie distillery was established in 1843, on the Dornoch Firth by brothers William and John Matheson. The site originally held a farm distillery under the name Morangie. There is evidence that distillation was carried out at this site during the early 18th century. Production began in November of 1849. During the latter part of the 19th century Glenmorangie began overseas exportation and destinations included Europe and the United States.
