Part of the Rare Cask Release series from the Highland distillery, this single cask expression is limited to just 404 bottles. Distilled on 16th December 1968 and matured in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon for 47 years before bottling in November 2016.

It’s fair to say Glenglassaugh have pulled out all the stops with this expression, which boasts a heady nose of dark chocolate fondant and dates and a fruity palate of sultanas, sun-dried raisins and a touch of walnut loaf.

Nose: Gentle dates and blackcurrants with dark chocolate and fresh black peppercorns.

Palate: Sun-dried raisins and sultanas with a dusting of cocoa.

Finish: Walnut loaf and delicate oak.

Distillery Information

The Glenglassaugh distillery is a malt scotch whisky distillery which restarted production in November 2008 after being acquired by an independent investment group. Following a complete refurbishment by the new owners the distillery was re-opened on 24 November 2008 by the First Minister for Scotland Alex Salmond.
