Introduced to Glen Garioch’s standard range in late 2010, this 12yo is a mix of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, and like the other distillery bottlings since the revamp, has been bottled at a feisty 48%. A real charmer.

Glen Garioch 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 1L Tasting Notes

Nose: Cinnamon, clove and buttery leather, vanilla, brazil nut, treacle, fudge and poached pears. Water amplifies spice and vanilla pastry.

Palate: Rich, fruity and spicy with browned butter malt and creamy mouth feel. Nutty, crème brûlée, overripe banana, stewed pear and vanilla with a blast of spicy oak.

Finish: Fruit wood spicy finish.

Distillery Information

The Glen Garioch distillery (pronounced Glen Geerie) was founded around 1797 by the Manson brothers, although many claim it was in fact Thomas Simpson. Different sources tell different stories. It is located in Oldemldrum, a small town in the Highlands famous for producing the finest barley in all of Scotland.
