These barrels were aged for twelve years at 3,800′ elevation in cool-climate conditions, and the spirit is bottled at 45% ABV.
Fuentaseca Reserva 2001 12 Year Extra Anejo Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose is so enticing, with a lovely herbal quality. Basil, with flecks of freshly sawn wood, tree sap, and touches of butterscotch.
Palate: The flavors are both sweet and spicy with caramel and vanilla flavors mingling with a cacophony of baking spices. Cooked orchard fruit, and crème brûlée with hints of spicy Mexican dark chocolate are also present.
