Edition No. 1 is a single cask, specially selected by their cellar master, Patrice Piveteau, for its distinctive character. After leaving the blend to age in Limousin oak for over 10 years in their “chai Francois Rabelais” – typically a humid cellar that brings roundness and suppleness to the blend – he has then decided to release this cognac under natural strength, using no filtration nor chilling.
Frapin Cellar Master Edition No. 1 Premier Grande Champagne Cru Cognac Tasting Notes
Nose: Both clean and aromatic, first revealing oak and vanilla reminiscent from early ageing in new oak, then floral features dominate and evolve into fruity flavors with apricot, citrus, ripened plums and spices.
Palate: Balanced, lively, with a fresh attack, followed by warm amplitude and inimitable roundness, with apricot and ginger reminiscing on the back palate.
Finish: Long, typical of Frapin cognacs.
