Enmore 34 Year Old 1988 New Vibrations Silver Seal Rum | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich, deep. On the first nose, a magnificent fruity rancio lights up the aroma palette, revealing candied orange and apricot, dark chocolate, ripe mango, drying dates, lime blossom honey, a combination of lavender and geranium scents, cinnamon powder, flambeed banana and incense.

Palate: Dynamic, full. The vanilla and herbal (mint, lemon balm) attack is also unctuously liquorice, fibrous (sugar cane) and rooty (gentian). At times evoking an old Chartreuse, the flavour palette is hydrated with bay leaf, thyme and oregano infusions.

Finish: Long, fleshy. Recreating the rancio character from the nose, the start of the finish is apricoty, mineral (slate) and exotic (persimmon, guava). Next, iris butter and salted butter caramel flavours highlight the after-taste’s extreme concentration.

Distillery Information

The Enmore Distillery started in the early 19th century in the village of Enmore, Guyana. It became famous for using wooden pot and column stills, a method rare in modern rum production. This old method gives Enmore Rum its special character. The spirit is being distilled in a wooden Coffey still.
