Elizabeth Yard Sherry Cask Edition Holyrood Distillery Rum | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: A delightful mixture of bananas and syrup with hints of creamy boiled sweets and pineapple.

Palate: Treacle and marzipan mingle with a strong note of demerara sugar and a hint of candy floss. Punctuated with classic sherry flavours of raisin and sticky desert and topped off with hints of savoury spice.

Finish: Lingering creamy caramel fudge and biscuits with a hint of chocolate.

Distillery Information

Royal Elizabeth Yard was built in 1946 in Kirkliston, West Lothian and was a Royal Naval Victualling Depot. Unit 9, where we keep our casks today, was the former rum store for the fleet’s daily rum ration. The last regulation issue of rum in the Royal Navy occurred on Friday 31st July 1970.
