Distillery Information
Caol Ila’s story began in 1846 when Hector Henderson, a Glasgow businessman, established the distillery near Port Askaig, a bustling harbour on Islay. The distillery’s location offered convenient access to supplies and shipping routes, enabling its products to reach the mainland with ease.
