A bottle of Chichibu 2011 Japanese Single Malt Whisky. This was distilled in 2011 from the Tipple barley variety, matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, and bottled in 2019 by Venture Whisky Ltd. This was selected and bottled exclusively for Independent Whisky Bars of Scotland, listed on the back label. As always with Chichibu these days, it’s extremely limited. Only 251 bottles have been produced. This Chichibu comes in the original presentation box.

Nose: Apricot, Popcorn Toffee, Vanilla Cream, Meyer Lemon Zest

Palate:Light Texture Notes of Toffee Roasted Chestnut Gingerbread, Vanilla & Black Pepper

Finish: Medium-long with Honey & Black Pepper

Distillery Information

Chichibu distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery. Founded in 2004 by Ichiro Akuto, and operational from 2008, it was the first new Japanese distillery since 1973. It is located at Chichibu, a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Chichibu Distillery is the only distillery in the world to use 100% Mizunara Japanese oak washbacks for fermentation which aid in creating the distinctly fruity style of whisky for which Ichiro is known. Additionally, the distillery has its own cooperage and floor malting facility on site.
