The deeply golden robe is covered with dynamic fine bubbles that form a dense chimney and creamy foam. The first bouquet is all elegance, followed by a strong second bouquet of succulent white and yellow fruit aromas accompanied by hints of floral, honey and brioche. The palate is an ample and structured harmony with full-body and freshness. It is light and refreshing and has notes of ripe white fruit, notably white peaches, but also dried apricot. The finish is long and slightly toasted.
Reviews:
- Wine Enthusiast: The wine, while it has a high dosage, is balanced with ripe white fruits showing well against a backdrop of ripe acidity.
- James Suckling: A dense and fruity wine with cooked-apple and lemon flavors. A hint of biscuit. Creamy texture. Subtle finish.
Producer Information
Nestled in the Champagne appellation, Champagne Baron-Fuenté traces its history back to the 17th century. In 1961, Gabriel Baron married Dolorès Fuenté, the daughter of Spanish immigrants, and on their wedding day, Gabriel received one hectare of vineyards as a present from his father. In 1967, the couple founded the house Baron-Fuenté and became the happy owners of their own estate. In 1982, their daughter Sophie joined her parents followed by her brother Ignace in joining the staff at Champagne Baron-Fuenté in 1992. At this time, the winery owned 13 ha of vineyards near the Marne River. Today, Champagne Baron-Fuenté owns 38 ha of vineyards. The Baron Family owns the brand Baron-Fuenté which is well-known among wine professionals. The cellar master together with Ignace take care of the production of all the Champagnes. Champagne Baron-Fuenté is the proud owner of a wide range of wines. The winery produces four different cuvées of Champagne, the Grands Cépages range, the Esprit range, the Classic range, and the Organic range. The Champagnes have a fruity taste and aromatic texture due to the low temperature facilities for their production. Champagne Baron-Fuenté produces greattasting Champagne from Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Champagne Baron-Fuenté is open for wine tours and tastings.
