“Castel Faglia is located in Calino, a hamlet of Cazzago San Martino, in the province of Brescia, right in the center of Franciacorta. A stone’s throw from Milan, overlooking the shores of Lake Iseo, in an area of ​​approximately 200 square kilometers which includes 19 municipalities in the province of Brescia, Franciacorta boasts lands of morainic origin, with extraordinary mineral richness; the latter, combined with the heterogeneity of the soils, constitutes the founding element of quality viticulture, fully appreciable in the sensorial characteristics of every sparkling wine produced here.The Castel Faglia company takes its name from the castle of the same name located on a hill on the slopes of which vineyards extend, partly on steps; from the latter, thanks to the perfect exposure, the stony soil and the microclimate , a unique grape is obtained because it is produced in an environment with unparalleled characteristics.Owned by the Cavicchioli family, which has always been dedicated to viticulture and producers of award-winning and renowned wines since 1928, Castel Faglia is surrounded by woods and vineyards and is known for the production of excellent Franciacorta . For Castel Faglia, the selection of grapes is of fundamental importance and in fact it obtains its grapes not from large vineyards but from small plots cultivated as if they were precious gardens, with the result of developing bunches with truly peculiar aromatic characteristics. The vineyards of Castel Faglia, covering approximately 17 hectares, are solely composed of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Noir vines; the grapes are then used for the production of two different lines of Franciacorta: Castel Faglia and Monogram. That of the Castel Faglia line is the most typical Franciacorta of the company and fully expresses all the character and excellence of the company style; a style that develops in the intensity of rich and complex flavors, in perfect harmony with fine and elegant aromas. The Franciacortas of the Monogram line, on the other hand, come from the best crus available to the company and are produced only in some years, when the climatic conditions, the quality of the grapes and the organoleptic characteristics create the optimal conditions for obtaining truly unique Franciacortas. .
