Producer Information

Rinomata Cantina Tombacco is an Italian wine producer, based in the Padova province of the Veneto wine region. The family-owned company has been producing wines for over a hundred years under various brands and is currently managed by the third generation of the Tombacco family. The 80 hectares (197 acres) of estate vineyards are all located within the Veneto region. A combination of silt, mineral-rich clay-based and stony soil types as well as various microclimates provide ideal terroir for the broad range of grape varieties found within the portfolio. The flagship wine of the Tombacco collection is the Aglianico IGT Del Beneventano which is sourced from multiple vineyards throughout the Benevento province. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, it is aged in a combination of steel vats and oak tonneaus prior to bottling. Other notable wines include the Biferno Rosso Riserva, a Montepulciano-based blend with Aglianico as well as the Azzura Rosso which a blend of Primitivo and Negroamaro sourced from the Puglia region. The organic range is a duo of Rosso DOC wines from Sicily and Marche. Approximately 40 percent of the wine produced by Rinomata Cantina Tombacco is sold in bottle while the remaining 60 percent is sold in barrel. Alongside the Rinomata Cantina Tombacco brand, the company also includes Piantaferro, Scuola Grande, Ca’ Del Doge, Serenissima, Caruso and San Tiziano labels within its portfolio.
