Brora 1977 45 Year Old Prima & Ultima #4 Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Very mellow, dense and complex, with no prickle.
Palate: At natural strength, there is a textbook oily, smoothly waxy texture, while the taste is sweet overall with light saltiness and smokiness, becoming spicier, with Cayenne pepper at the back.
Finish: Long warming and lightly drying, with gingery spice, a peaty kick and a menthol-like cool aftertaste.
Distillery Information
The distillery was founded under the Name Clynelish by the Duke of Sutherland in 1819. In 1967 the new Clynelish distillery was built, and the old Clynelish was renamed to Brora distillery. In 1983 Brora was closed and the only things that were still used were the warehouses.
