This particular small batch, specialty craft bourbon starts with a very high rye content, providing a bold, spicy note. By inducing the second maturation in the port cask, that tangy rye flavor is softened and some vinous, dark fruit notes develop in place of its bite, providing a much smoother, mellower finish.

Nose: Butterscotch, vanilla and a tease of raisins.

Palate: Spicy rye mellowed about by dark dry fruits.

Finish: Smoother, mellower finish.
