Booker Noe was Master Distiller at the Jim Beam distillery from 1966-1992 and this unfiltered, straight from the barrel bourbon whiskey was his life’s work. Aged for over seven years at an audacious 64.35% ABV, it’s the second highest aged batch in the 2015 Limited Collection. The label itself is a reproduction of Booker’s hand-written message detailing what makes his namesake so special. Even though he passed in 2004, Booker’s bourbon remains undiluted, unfiltered and, in Mr. Noe’s terms, ”straight from the barrel,” the way bourbon used to be. Today, Booker’s is the highest proof bourbon in the Jim Beam Small Batch Collection.

Nose: Potent, heady, spirity bouquet leaps from the glass in fiery, sweet, tangy notes; inhale in small doses.

Palate: On the palate, Booker’s offers high-flying flavors of wood, smoke and wine at entry; midpalate is sweet and corny.

Finish: Memorable finish has tastes of fruit and nuts.

Distillery Information

After settling in Kentucky, Beam began harvesting corn and set forth a family tradition by distilling the excess grains he harvested into whiskey. Since then, seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production for the eponymous company.
