Bird in Hand is a family-owned winery founded in 1997 by Andrew and Susie Nugent. Originally a dairy farm in Woodside, in the then emerging Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia, Bird in Hand champions social inclusion and advocacy through artisan wine. The Bird in Hand foundation was created in 2014 to support the community and disadvantaged, advocating gender and indigenous equality. Bird in Hand vineyards include 23 hectares under vine in Woodside and planting has begun at recently acquired vineyards in Seymour, Tasmania and Finnis, South Australia.
