Douglas Laing has gone and released an excellent limited edition bottling of Big Peat in celebration of Fèis Ìle 2022! Dubbed the Beach BBQ Edition, this blended malt Scotch whisky combines a host of whiskies from distilleries across Islay, offering up an appropriately smoky flavour profile. Bottled up at a weighty 54.2% ABV, only 3,000 bottles were produced, featuring the eponymous Big Peat on the label having a traditional Scottish BBQ in the pouring rain.
Big Peat Beach BBQ Edition – Fèis Ìle 2022 | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Singed barley with a meatiness to it, joined by honey roasted peanuts and salted lemons.
Palate: Coastal peat is right up front, paired with touches of dark chocolate, salt and pepper crisps, and new leather.
Finish: Peppercorn, smoke, and charred cedar.

Renowned Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from independent bottler and blender Douglas Laing! Big Peat, as the name suggests, is a smoky peaty treat and was the first whisky in what later became Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts.
