Behold, a 1961 vintage Bas Armagnac from Baron de Sigognac, a long-running, family-owned Armagnac house which has produced a whole load of impressively well-aged spirits alongside a host of classic expressions. 1961 was also the year the James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl was published, so clearly it was a busy year.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.
Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end.
Finish: The finish is surprisingly long and warming.
