Ak Zanj means “With Angels,” a reference to the Angel’s Share, the spirit stolen by thirsty angels each year, as the rum matures in barrels. Under the tropical weather of Haiti, the Angels are especially thirsty, and their share can be as high as 10 percent annually. The more they drink, the more mature and complex the rum.
Ak Zanj Haitian Dark Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Floral notes & honey, followed by woody tannin and banana.
Palate: First comes a roundness and notes of caramel on the palate, combined with aromas of vanilla, followed by candied fruits, hazelnut and cinnamon
Finish: Perfect, long lasting finish.

Zanj Rum. Berling S.A. traces its lineage back to 1862 in Port-au-Prince when brothers Dupre & Labbe Barbancour began distilling high quality rum from locally sourced clairin.
