Etna Bianco Terre Nere 2023 showcases a clear, bright straw-yellow colour. The nose reveals a complex profile of citrus fruits, particularly lemon and green apple, intertwined with delicate floral notes and hints of mineralogy that echo the volcanic terroir of Mount Etna. On the palate, it displays a crisp acidity and a medium body, with flavours mirroring the nose. The wine has a refreshing quality, balanced by a subtle creaminess, leading to a clean, zesty finish.

Distillery Information

Tenuta delle Terre Nere is a Sicilian wine estate that cultivates vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna. It is known for its high average vine age, including pre-phylloxera vines from which it makes exclusively DOC Etna wines. The flagship of the wine portfolio is the Prephylloxera La Vigna di Don Peppino. First released in 2006, it is a Nerello Mascalese-dominat blend with small portions of Nerello Capuccio. Prior to release, it is barrel-aged in French barriques for 16 to 18 months and is named after the winemaker who tended the vineyard for more than seven decades. Tenuta delle Terre Nere also porduces a range of Etna Bianco wines predominantly from Carricante, Catarratto, Inzolia and Grecanico. On top of this, the portfolio includes a range of single-vineyard wines that are produced from the highest-quality grapes of individual plots of the estate.
