Producer Information
Bilancia, meaning ‘balance’ in Italian, is the brainchild of winemakers Lorraine Leheny and Warren Gibson, started in 1997 in the Hawke’s Bay area of NZ. Previously they had made wine all over the world, after initially studying at Roseworthy in Adelaide. The focal point of Bilancia is the sloping vineyard of La Collina (meaning the Hill). This north-west facing plot is planted to outstanding Syrah and Chardonnay – the La Collina Syrah is one of NZ’s best reviewed wines globally. They release beautifully measured, ageworthy wines, with their estate wines in particular being brilliant value premium NZ wine at their best
