Producer Information
Santorini Ftelos Artemis Karamolegos Winery is the third and last wine of the single vineyards series of the winery. Some say that it is the best of the three and an exuberant but at the same time classic expression of Santorini’s terroir. We will simply tell you that you definitely shouldn’t miss it! The Winery of Artemis Karamolegos is one of the oldest on the island and has some of the oldest vines in Santorini. Specifically, Ftelos comes from a single vineyard in Fira, with vines over 150 years old. These vines have hardened due to drought, strong winds, and nutrient-poor soil and thus give very few but over-concentrated grapes. The wine ferments and matures in stainless steel tanks, with its fine wine lees for 24 months. The wine is then transferred in oak casks for 2 months to enhance its complexity. The 2020 vintage has been released in super minimal bottles and is expected to be a blockbuster!
