Reviews:
- Wine Advocate: From the Evergreen vineyard, the 2019 Chardonnay Ancient Lakes displays a pale straw color and offers up a nose of classic aromas of white peach, yellow apple and pear with a pleasant lift of citrus blossom and hints of lemon curd in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is energetic and juicy, with a pleasing line of acidity, showing balance through the mid-palate with fresh, vibrant pomaceous and citrus flavors, ending with a lingering finish that will surely please a crowd.
- Wine Enthusiast: All of the fruit for this wine comes from Evergreen Vineyard. Aged in third-fill barrels and neutral oak with 50% malolactic fermentation, the aromas of apple, pumpkin and talc are plentiful. The palate is bright and fresh, with lemony flavors. It brings texture and tension.
Producer Information
Centered in the heart of the Columbia Valley and roughly 50 miles north of Red Mountain and the Yakima Valley sits the Wahluke Slope AVA, a yet to be discovered but dynamic winegrowing region that is producing some of the most exciting wines the state of Washington has to offer. The true depth of a man’s character is often unknowable, but even one conversation was enough to convince me that LUKE was an imitation of no one. He revealed himself slowly, like a freed wind emerging from the shadow of a mountain. Seemingly ordinary at first, but undeniably complex. Bold and determined, but unabashedly generous.
