There is tremendous flavor complexity, but in an understated style. This has to be one of the most unique and compelling Chenin Blancs being made in the United States.

Producer Information

Foxen Winery is based in Northern Santa Barbara county in California, USA. It produces a wide range of wines which include various whites, notable Pinot Noirs and Rhône style wines along with dessert wines. The winery was founded on the converted Rancho Tinaquaic and now has 2,000 acres (809 hectares) under vine. The estate has vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley, Santa Rita Hills, Santa Ynez Valley and the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, the focus is then on ensuring the winemaking process is as unobtrusive as possible with careful selection of yeasts and limited fining and filtering. The Foxen 7200 wines are generally wines made in the styles of Bordeaux, or are Italian influenced. They are only available via the webstore and their dedicated tasting room, formerly known as The Shack. The second Foxen tasting room was built in 2009 as an eco friendly space to showcase the Pinot Noir and Rhône style wines to the winery’s visitors. Both this and the winery are solar powered.
