Producer Information
The Monnier family, Xavier Monnot’s maternal ancestors, can trace their presence in Meursault back to 1723, and since then, six generations have been active in viticulture. In the intervening three hundred years, the family accumulated seventeen hectares of vineyards, stretching from Beaune to Maranges, including a number of enviable plots in the premier crus of Meursault Charmes, Puligny Folatières and Volnay Clos des Chênes. Xavier took the reins in 1994, but it was only in 2005 after a period of fine-tuning that he started producing wines under his own name. His style is certainly an engaging one, highlighting purity of fruit and vineyard character, while demonstrating a rare ability to combine elegance and opulence.
