Deep dark red color. Aromas of currants, blueberry and juniper, bouquet garni and fresh earth. The palate is built on lots of fresh blue and red fruits. Bright flavors with energy and verve, along with hints of dusty earth, weave through the mid-palate with complexing notes of bay leaf, juniper and green tobacco leaf. Acid is fresh but balanced whilst tannins kick in mid-palate and run along with the fruit profile. Notes of coffee grounds and chocolate add complexity through the finish.

• Wine Advocate: The 2018 Sexy Beast Cabernet Sauvignon features classy hints of pencil shavings, mint and cassis. It shows appropriate varietal restraint on the palate, gliding along in a streamlined, focused manner without being tight or ungenerous. It’s medium-bodied and silky yet firm, with a long finish.

• James Suckling: This has a very plush, ripe and essence-like blackcurrant core with blueberries and a sleek, plush tannin build on the palate. Chocolate and earthy nuances.

Two Hands is an Australian wine producer of the Barossa Valley, specializing in red wines made from Shiraz. The wine portfolio aims to exhibit the diversity of Australian Shiraz by sourcing grapes from mulitple region and producing wines that highlight the regional characteristics. The flagship wine is the Ares Shiraz, which is produced from the highest-quality of Shiraz grapes sourced by the company. After ageing for 24 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels, only the best wine from the barrels is made into the final blend. As well as Shiraz, Two Hands sources Grenache, Mataro, Roussanne, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon from its preferred regions, and brings it all to the winery in Barossa, which was built in 2004. It was founded in 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz as a negociánt-style business in the Barossa Valley. Now, the company makes a range of wines from McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, the Barossa Valley and the Clare Valley in South Australia, and Heathcote in Victoria. The inaugural vintage from Two Hands was in 2000.
