Reviews:

• Wine Enthusiast: This is an intriguing blend of 32% Touriga Nacional, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, 13% Grenache, and 12% Tinta Cão, along with bits of Souzão and Cinsault. Aromas of cocoa, black raspberry, satsuma, plum and herb flavors are followed by beautifully balanced, restrained but still plentiful fruit flavors. It brings a lot of flat out enjoyment.

• Jeb Dunnuck: A blend you don’t often see from Washington State, the 2018 Stanley Groovy checks in as 32% Touriga Nacional, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, 13% Grenache, and the rest Tinta Cao, Souzao, and Cinsault. A dense purple hue is followed by a ripe, full-bodied, concentrated wine offering loads of blue fruits, cedary green herbs, sandalwood, and orange blossom-like aromas and flavors. As with all of the wines from this estate, the texture is incredible, it’s perfectly balanced, and it has ripe, polished tannins as well as a great, great finish. It’s going to keep for 15 years as well.

Producer Information

Founded in 2014, by Mike Martin, a Seattle area based technology executive who discovered the Walla Walla Valley and decided to make his future there. He has realized a dream of producing Pacific Northwest wines, with the help of an amazing team, that represent true expressions of the multitude of terroirs and microclimates that define this region. Wines sourced by The Walls Vineyards from The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater have featured a Tempranillo from Stoney Vine Vineyard, as well as Syrah, Grenache, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from River Rock Vineyard. In 2020, the winery began producing The Rocks District wines from its own estate vineyard, Rockgarden. A second estate vineyard was planted from 2020-2022, called Petros Vineyard. Much of the fruit from Petros will be vinified as PÁŠXA Wines, The Walls’s sister brand.
