Description
Red Wine: 2018 | Domaine Nicolas Faure | Bourgogne Aux Argillieres
Fragrant, slightly smoky, floral, even a touch of lavender. Smoky/dusty herbs and the scent of red fruit. Juicy, delicate and scented by the stems but not stemmy at all. Lovely length and fragrance right to the long finish.

Reviews:
- Wine Advocate: Planted 1985, at the bottom of the slope of Primeaux-Prissey (in the village), clay with alluvial stones. Only 20 hl/ha in 2018 because of hail but he thinks you can make an excellent Bourgogne with 40 hl/ha. The berries are all millerandé, Faure explains, so very small. ‘When I took over the vineyard it was hungry but it is slowly recovering’, he says. 100% whole bunch. Bottled.

Producer Information
Domaine Nicolas Faure is a one-man Burgundy producer, located in the commune of Meuilley of the Côte-d’Or department of eastern France. Nicolas Faure acquired a vineyard of the Les Herbues climat in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2010 with the first vintage released the following year. Today, vineyards holdings include a plot of 100-year-old Aligoté in the Haute-Côte-de-Beaune as well as a vineyard of Gamay in Premeaux-Prissey amoungst others. In the winery, minimal intervention is practiced throughout the entire winemaking process with small amounts of sulfur added when essential. Faure also practices organic farming methodology in the vineyard to ensure that vines are producing small yields of grapes with concentrated flavor compounds.
