Producer Information

Beaux Frères is Willamette Valley wine producer, located on a former pig farm southwest of Portland, Oregon. Co-owner and managing partner Michael G. Etzel founded the 36 hectare (88 acre) plot in 1986 and that same year, purchased the land with his wine critic brother-in-law Robert Parker. From conception, it was Pinot Noir that was the focus of the Yamhill County estate. In 1991, Robert Roy joined as the third co-owner of the estate and, with his help, the Beaux Frères winery was built, leading to the release of the estate’s first Pinot Noir vintage under its own label. Beaux Frères has since grown to encompass two vineyards – the original 12 hectare (30 acre) Beaux Frères vineyard and the adjacent four-hectare (10 acre) Upper Terrace vineyard. Here, steep south-facing slopes with an altitude of 400 feet (122 meters) above sea level creates an ideal microclimate for viticulture. The flagship of the portfolio is the Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir. Sourced from vines planted in 1988 that today, produce low yields of grapes with high concentrations of flavor and phenolic compounds. In addition to the estate’s own Pinot Noir, Beaux Frères also works in collaboration with local farmers. This selection has included Pinot Noir sourced from the Willamette Valley, the Carlton AVA, the McMinnville AVA and the Dundee Hills AVA. Beaux Frères is apart of the Maisons & Domaines Henriot family which also includes Champagne Henriot and William Fèvre within the portfolio.
