Producer Information
3 Badge Enology (formerly The Other Guys) is a Sonoma-based wine brand that began as a range of wines in the Don Sebastiani and Sons catalogue. It offers a number of different labels mostly targeting the value market, such as Plungerhead, Hey Mambo and The White Knight. The grapes used are mostly popular Sonoma and greater California varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit comes from across the state, with wines carrying a range of appellation designations, from specific AVAs such as Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley, to Lodi and the broader “California” moniker. 3 Badge began as The Other Guys in the mid-2000s but did not become an independent brand until 2010. It is still owned by the Sebastiani family – a preeminent winemaking family with a history in Sonoma dating back to the founding of Sebastiani wines in 1904 by Samuele Sebastiani. The Other Guys experienced rapid growth after it became a stand-alone line selling 300,000 cases in 2012 (of which 150,000 were its leading brand Leese-Fitch). At the beginning of 2016 The Other Guys changed its name to 3 Badge (after old fire service badges from the Sebastiani family) Enology and incorporated with another Sebastiani brand, 35 Maple Street Spirits (now called 3 Badge Mixology), into the 3 Badge Beverage Corporation. The ownership and the catalog of wines have stayed the same.
