Producer Information
The Società Agricola Nicolis Angelo e Figli is located in S.Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the “classic” Valpolicella growing area. The art of viticulture is passed on like a treasure from generation to generation in the family along with their own land: 90 hectares, of which 42 hectares are vineyards. The “Classico” wines, which can be drunk relatively young, come from the vineyards at the foot of the hills with deep, fertile soil, while the long-aged wines such as the Amarone come from terraced vineyards on hillsides supported by “marogne” (dry stone walls). become. Wine has always been produced here for local and own consumption; it was only in 1951 that Angelo Nicolis, together with his wife Natalia, began to build production facilities suitable for a larger market. Their commitment to producing high-quality wines received new impetus when their sons – after completing their studies in viticulture and business administration – took over management of their father’s business. Today the company is run by three brothers: Giancarlo is responsible for the vineyards and grape quality; Giuseppe, as an oenologist, oversees the entire winemaking process and the quality of the wines; Massimo is responsible for marketing at home and abroad. The company management continues to be supported by mother Natalia with her experience.
