• Wine Advocate: Made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard opens with seriously earthy notions of tilled black soil, mossy tree bark, morels and wet pebbles over a black-fruited core of cassis, freshly crushed blackberries and warm plums plus touches of unsmoked cigars and fallen leaves. Full-bodied and packed to the gills with complex mineral, earth and black fruit layers, it has a rock-solid structure of firm, ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long with a provocative spiciness coming through.

Myriad Cellars is a wine producer based in California’s Napa Valley. Founder Mike Smith released his first vintage under the Myriad Cellars label in 2005, and today the estate’s portfolio is largely dedicated to single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines, with smaller offerings of single-vineyard Syrah and Sémillon. Numerous wines have received perfect 100-point scores from numerous publications, including former US wine critic Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.Myriad Cellars makes wines from a selection of Napa Valley vineyards. The most famous of these is the 10-hectare (25-acre) Beckstoffer Dr. Crane vineyard in St Helena, which was planted in 1858 and sits atop deep alluvial soils.Seven rows of its Cabernet Sauvignon vines are harvested to produce Myriad Cellars’ Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard ‘Elysian’ Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The wines are made at the Tamber Bey Winery in Calistoga.
